Frequently Asked Questions About Shower RemodelingShoweRemodelHow much will it cost?Good question, we offer a fair price for the quality of service. Depends on many factors, which will be covered during the consultation. We see at least 15 people a week who wished they focused a little more time on hiring the right company. Our pricing is pretty competitive with the 15-20 percent of the companies who know what they are doing. Otherwise, save up more money before you try and go lower quality, you will regret it. We do NOT install low end showers. No fiberglass bases, or single unit tub and wall combos. No solid surface/cultured marble acrylic, or onyx showers. There is no skill required in installing these, hence no need for our services. Approximately how long does it take for my shower remodel to be completed?95% of all our shower remodels are completed within 5 days.
What can I expect during the consultation? (Approximate duration - 1 hour)
What if we need help picking out the tile, or where to buy the tile?Yes we can help, all this will be covered during the consultation. Do you do full bathroom remodels?Yes, if we are doing the shower and floors. We do vanities, tubs, showers, glass, plumbing, electrical, tile/stone floors, tile tub surrounds, painting, cabinets and trim work. We are usually in and out in 2-3 weeks. We do not transform your bathroom in one day, those solutions are way overpriced for what you are getting. All appropriately licensed and managed by a project manager. Can we save money if we do some of the work?Shower Remodel: If you already have the shower ripped out prior to consultation, yes, a little. Otherwise, no. We have a very efficient process with highly skilled resources who follow our protocol. Bathroom Remodel: The shower, floors and plumbing are the most important part of a bath remodel, if you want to tackle the cabinets, light fixtures, painting… then yes, but we want to perform all the critical masonry and plumbing to ensure they are done right the first time. Why not just hire the "tile guy" my friend, realtor, designer... Recommended? You see that puts you in the position of General Contractor, that means you have to know exactly how to build a shower to ensure they are doing it properly. There are 15-20 percent of us (GC's) who know what we are doing, the rest are garbage, remember we see 15 remodeled showers a week that need to be ripped out and redone. If you don't think you can afford our competitive price, try paying for it twice. Based on your Grout Doctor experience (seeing/fixing so many showers), what do we need to be on the lookout for when hiring someone to do a shower remodel? The Designer (now friend, how many times have I heard this, they are not your friend). The designer is very sly on how they come in and recommend all these beautiful ideas and then they have access to these sub contractors to do the work (you will save money cause they are cheap). Your DESIGNER is NOT a GENERAL CONTRACTOR, they KNOW NOTHING about how things are supposed to be done and then they blame it on the subcontractor when things go south, but because they have befriended you, you fall for it and feel sorry for them. Most General Contractors operate the same way. As a general contractor we have 2 jobs to do, one is communicate effectively upfront and two, is put the right people in your house. All of our jobs are run by a project manager and executed by highly skilled tradesmen with the appropriate licenses. They run very smoothly and on time. Flooring companies, overall General Contractors and especially Roofing companiesThese types of companies do not do enough shower remodels to warrant having a top notch shower remodeler on staff so they usually put one of their best tile guys on the job usually setting them up to fail because building a shower pan and properly waterproofing a shower correctly takes great expertise which they do not have. There is no easy fix for either of these mistakes. Would you hire a shower remodeler to put your roof on? Exactly. A friend, coworker, family member, painter, handymanDo you know how many people we see that had no problem paying what we charge to one of the above people to install their new shower? Some of the above people can be extremely good at many tasks, but most savvy homeowners want to hire somebody that does it everyday with great reviews. While their intent was in the right place, simple mistakes lead to very costly repairs/redo's. Only Hire someone with an internet presence and great reviews on the exact work you want done. This is not a guarantee, but at least you can review them if they really mess things up, otherwise with the ones listed above you have no recourse Falling for the entire bath or shower remodel for some really low monthly price (They are beautiful)
Falling for the "I know this tile guy" from a friend, realtor, designer...
